XP Pro on a Domain fails to open files

Hi,
I have a win2000 domain with 12 pc's (2000pro,xp,98).
Everything works fine.

The problem :
I bought 2 new pc's, installed XP pro on them and joined the domain succesfully.
When trying to open files from the network (as all computers do just fine), Sometimes, the app opening the file hangs (photoshop, flash etc..) for about 30 seconds before opening the file (sometimes i get a "can't open file" dialog, and after trying again it opens ok).
When working locally, all is ok.
Reinstalled OS more than once + replaced NIC card.
Any Suggestions....

MAke sure that you set your DNS on each PC to the server ( Domain Controller) first. This increases logon speed and application speed.
