Configuring a NIC?
Long story short I had to switch from a network adapter (USB) to a full network interface card. Ever since it's been really, really slow. (it was the same way in the other brand new computer I took it from).
I'm pretty sure it's the settings, but things like beacon intervals and TX power levels make no sense to me...
I can list the items in the advanced setup tab and you can tell me generally what they're supposed to be at. But here's some quick specs:
Encore ENEWI-2XNAx wireless NIC (PCIE)
Wireless cable modem, 7Mbps down, not sure on IEEE protocol or range...
And it's just a SOHO network with maybe 7-11 connections on it.
And here's what I need configured:
802.11d (Enable? Disable?)
Beacon interval (20-1000)
Preamble mode (long only? Short and long?)
Roaming sensitivity level (high, low, middle, disable)
TX power level (25%-50%-75%-100%, auto)
Wireless mode (802.11b, 802.11b/g, 802.11b/g/n)
