    Routing Table Question

    HI Network Experts,
    I don't know how to do the following network question , please guide me,thanks in advance.

    Consider the following routing table
    Network Destination ID Gateway Mask Interface
    142.93.45.0 Localhost 255.255.255.128 0
    142.93.45.192 Localhost 255.255.255.192 1
    142.93.44.0 R2 255.255.255.128 2
    Default R3 - 3
    Describe the actions taken by the router, when it received packet addressed to each of the following destinations:
    (i) 142.93.45.15
    (ii) 142.93.44.12
    (iii)142.93.45.208
    (iv)142.93.43.65

    The description is pretty straightfoward. Do you have a specific question about the process? What is it you are unsure of?

    (I've been offline for the last few days)

    IP addresses are misleading when it comes to actual traffic flow. They tell computers not where the packet goes to but in what direction it moves. The next device then decides where to send packets, then the next, and so on until it finally arrives (hopefully) at the target device.

    (iii)142.93.45.208
    Which interface does this packet need to go through? In this situation you check IP & mask = network address.
    Code:
    interface 0: 142.93.45.208 & 255.255.255.128 -> 142.93.45.128 ≠ 142.93.45.0
    No match.
    Code:
    interface 1: 142.93.45.208 & 255.255.255.192 -> 142.93.45.192 = 142.93.45.192
    Match. This packet goes through interface 1.
