    backup database


    hi..i'm new in oracle.
    i'd like to backup the database in oracle(i mean copy all tables and put its in another pc that has oracle database). How to do that?

    The easiest way is hot backup that can be taken by export command. An example as follows:

    Syntax:
    exp username/password parameter1=value1 parameter2=value2 .................................

    Example:
    exp scott/tiger file=scott.dmp constraints=y

    Above command will create a dump file. you can copy this into another PC then run the import command to load the data from dump file into desired schema (it is better if your schema is empty before loading data). An example is given below:

    Syntax:
    imp username/password parameter1=value1 parameter2=value2 ..........................

    Example:
    imp test/test file=scott.dmp full=Y
