Define environment variable ORACLE_SID

Define environment variable ORACLE_SID

I have tried to run my ORACLE 10 G manually by typing

[oracle@routerPC02 bin]$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin
[oracle@routerPC02 bin]$ ./emctl

And it seems that i need to define environment variable ORACLE_SID

TZ set to Asia/Japan
Environment variable ORACLE_SID not defined. Please define it.

How to define environment variable ORACLE_SID?...

syntax:
-------
$export ORACLE_SID = <instance name>

example:
--------
$export ORACLE_SID = ORCL

I'm sure you've already done this, but do put the env variable in your .profile or .bash_profile file so that it will be automated.
