Displaying JPG in Reports 6 Oracle

I have to build a report on an Oracle DB, getting the image file of an item from a OS directory.

The name of the images is like 'item_id' || '_2.JPG' and I have to display that image in the report al runtime.

That is to say, for each record, I have to display it's image but it's not DB stored, but in an OS directory.

    Can anyone help me, please?

What you are trying to say is that, you get or fetch your image from file and display it in your report dynamically? using oracle report 6i?

    1. create a function that will return a location path of your image and if its parameterized so you have to make it concatenated.
    2. create a text field item in the report layout
    3. in the text field property source point to function that you created
    4. data type will be character
    5. read from file property must be yes
    6. file format property will be image.

thats all... you're on the go...

    hope it solve your problem.
