Question Error while connecting to Remote Database in ORACLE10g

Hi all,
I'm using ORACLE10g.
I can connect to a Remote database of my client using ISQLPLUS.BUt when I use SQLPLUS i either get Timeout error or
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

Can any1 help for the same......

ORA-12545 means that the name of the ORACLE SID or the hostname - both are specified in the tnsnames.ora file - are not found, or do not exist.

Check your tnsnames.ora file.

Both are valid as I'm able to connect through ISQLPLUS using the same service name.....
