free sql runner?
Does anyone know of a "good" free program that will let me connect to an oracle db and modify tables, data, etc. either by a graphical interface or by just typing in SQL statements and running them? I'd been using a trial version of toad, but it ran out and I only have a little bit left to do on it and don't want to buy a license just to do a couple more things. TIA!

The Merant driver that connects your PC to an Oracle instance is licensed - this means if you have VB or VBA access you can mess with Oracle data using ODBC.
Since your box has to have been legally licensed to connect, you should have sqlplus, too. I had Toad once, and it required the Merant driver. Now I use PL/SQL developer - you can get a demo copy from Allaround Automations. |

You can get the old, freeware TOAD from
