Hi all,
I modified some of the initialization parameters of a particular instance in the oracle server. I logged in to the oracle instance using the Instance Manager, and changed some of the initialization parameters. When I tried to apply the changes, it failed. The oracle instance started but did not get mounted or opened. I had saved the older configuration to a dump file. Is there any way that I can restore those parameters back to their original values so that I could get this instance working again. thanks asif ![]() |

they aren't in the dump file they are in a file init<sid>.ora file, if you have a backup of that file then: shutdown the db, restore the file and restard db.
