Install: Pentium 4 symcjit.dll problems.
Does anyone have any experience in resolving the associated problems with installing the Oracle 8i Client and Forms 6i on a pentium 4.
From what I have read and done, the installer is required to rename the symcjit.dll to something else such as symcjit.old. It is my understanding that this is to hide the file from the installer. Well we got the client installed by doing the renaming. Now the issue is when trying to run the Net 8 Configuration Assistant, or Net 8 Easy Config, they will not run, there is no visible error the programs just hang. We have tried using a updated version of the said .dll but that causes the programs to return a JRE error to occur. So basically what I am after is a way to succesully and completly install and operate Oracle 8i Client and Forms 6i on a pentium 4. Any help is appreciated. If you would like more information pleas e let me know ![]()
