Interfacing Forms 6i

I am Oracle-illiterate, so dont mind if my knowledge for it sucks. The thing is, my client uses Oracle 6i client server archietecture. We are installing a Queuing system with this client, that has a VB application running its database on SQL Server. The client requires to place simple buttons in his 6i forms that would call API or COM Component or some executable file that would interface with my SQL Server Database. The 6i forms will submit data as well as retrieve it. I dont think any executable file can return strings or variables, so that options out. I would like to know if you can interface COM Components or APIs with Forms 6i.

Looking for a quick response.
Thanks
Jawad
