Oracle Re-Installtion Problem
Hi to all.............
i was installing oracle 8 on windows 2000, but unfortunately due to electicity fluctuation system restarts during the installation. i uninstall oracle properly and then reinstall the oracle. But every time i got message of No TNS Listner and No Destination Found. Can any body help......... |

This may be a dumb question because I work with Oracle in a Unix environment, but did you start the listener?
[snip from some documentation] For Oracle 8i and above, one can start the database by starting the OracleServiceSID service. For Oracle versions below 8i one should see at least two services - OracleStartSID and OracleServiceSID. Some of the other optional services are: Net8 listener service (OracleTNSListener) Intelligent Agent Service (OracleAgent) Oracle Data Gatherer (OracleDataGatherer) Oracle OEM Management Server (OracleManagementServer) From what this says OracleTNSListener must be running. jim |
