Red face PopList w/Forms 6.1

I am helping on a project that is using an old version of Oracle Forms - 6.1.
I need to create a PopList (or Combo Box) which uses records from a record group.

I am able to use the Built-ins to populate the list - which is initially empty - but the form comes up with a blank selection (not one of my choices) and though I can select an item - it 'beeps', telling me there's an error - and the selection doesn't 'stick' - or remain selected.

What am I missing and/or doing wrong?

Thanks.

JP

I'm sorry...I don't completely understand the question.

Are you saying that the poplist is populated, but you can't select any values?

Thanks for your interest.
The list is created and displayed.
I can click (highlight) one of the elements of the list, but when I'm done, the selected list item is no longer selected - it's still the original/default list item.

poplist value not selecting properly

Did you ever find an anwer to your question? I am having the same problem with a poplist. Once I click on and select an item it still displays something else in the textbox.

There could be several reasons. Firstly, the item may be enabled but not updateable (maybe at the record or block level). Secondly, there could be something in a WHEN-LIST-CHANGED which is failing.
