Problem with posting an XML document via an HTTPS url

I'm having a problem posting an XML document via HTTPS within an Oracle Stored Procedure. I'm using the following Oracle helper packages: xml_http and utl_tcp. Http post works fine. Am I missing another helper package?

Am using the example from "Build Oracle XML applications" an O'Reilly book.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!
