Simple SQL*Plus help please
Hi,
I'm new to Oracle and SQL*Plus. I've downloaded the student version of Oracle 9i and I'm following a tutorial in my textbook to learn Oracle. My question is: how do I change the directory that SQL*Plus uses for editor files? If I open the editor and type in a few lines and save it, it has to be in c:/oracle92/bin, or SQL*Plus doesn't recognize the command: "edit ex1.txt", which contains my SQL example. Obviously I'd rather not have to save every file in the bin folder. Thanks for the help! |

I tried right-clicking on the "sqlplusw.exe" icon in the Oracle92\bin folder. I chose Properties from the list. There are four tabs: General, Version, Compatibility, and Summary. However, I don't see any options to change the "Start Destination."
What am I missing? By the way, I'm using the student version of Oracle 9.2i. SQL*PLUS version 9.2.0.1.0. Windows XP Home. Last edited by jumpyg : March 24th, 2004 at 06:47 AM. |

Hi,
just create a link of the exe to your desktop and you will see the start in in the shortcut folder. Galit. |
