Update statement slow only on Mondays
Hi,
We use Oracle 9i database. We have observed a peculiar thing happening in our system. The application gets very slow on Monday. On other days it very fast. I just monitored the activity through Oracle Enterprise Manager on Monday. It displayed an update query being very slow. Since this update statement is fired every day it is not clear how it is slow only on a specific day and on other days it works fine. Can anybody please help me out with this problem? Tx |

You will need to be much more specific, other variables could be at play that none of us would be able to know from here...
Do you shutdown the database over the weekend? Have you got other services running one a monday (not just database)? - what else is on running the box? I assume you have already considered these and other similar options, I have seen strange features like this, but not this specifically. |
