I have the query retriving Oracle Database data using SQL Plus. It runs quick but When I add one more criteria, the query become very slow and even no response.
I don't understand and I find that the table in the new criteria has index of the field. Please help!!!

Need more details
Need more details about the table, indexes and the query if you want an effective reply. Too many variable factors to answer you otherwise.
OR, you can test your query efficiency yourself using SQL*plus by using the command: set autotrace traceonly then enter the query and check out the statistics. |
