    Hi,
I have a MySQL database, i need to import (or run query) a table into a database oracle: this every day automatically.

Yes, it's possible -- but what is it you want to do?

    a) Query a MySQL table from Oracle DB -- or --
    b) Query an Oracle DB table from MySQL?

For case "a)" you would need to install "Heterogeneous Connectivity" (not sure if it's still required).

For case "b)" you would need the ODBC driver for Oracle.

    LKBrwn_DBA, thank's for your reply!!!
it's case b (Query an Oracle DB table from MySQL).

Would you be so kind to show me an example of a script to be used with the ODBC driver to connect to oracle DB?.

    thank you very much!

    Windoze or Unix?

Windoze comes with an Oracle odbc driver, but I recommend you install the Oracle client, preferably the "full" client (not the "instant" client). Then with the Microsoft ODBC Administrator program you just setup a user or System DSN like you would do for any other Data source.

On Unix I have never done ODBC.

In and case: Google it .

    Good luck!

PS: Just discovered that there is a MySQL Client Library Driver for Oracle therefore avoiding the "Heterogeneous Connectivity" stuff.

    I have windows (Mysql).

I don't have access to computer where is installed the Oracle database: i can read only the table.

I configured correctly http://www.jaspersoft.com/ , creating a connection via JDBC driver, it works correctly.
I used google but I do not understand: after configuration odbc driver , how use in mysql the new connection ?
    What is the syntax ?

    Sorry ...

    * If you can connect via JDBC and it works, you may not need the Oracle client.
    * You do not need access to the computer where the Oracle database is installed. Why did you think you needed this?
