Anyone using Progress 4GL?

Just out of interest, wondered if anyone is using Progress 4GL?
If so, what do you think of it?

Most Progress people hang out at PEG.COM.

I use 4GL, though I'd rather not. I think it's a clumsy language. It's fine for day-to-day reporting, but you occasionally run into problems if you are trying to do a bit more.

Many large companies use Progress 4GL ( check progress.com partners).

I worked with Progress 4GL for the last 15 years against Progress, SQL and Oracle databases. Progress is most reliable database and most efficient language to write business logic.

It is not so strong in interface design so Progress decided to enable use of .NET as a front end (one option).

WebSpeed is web development tool and for data processing quite efficient.

Reasons you don't hear about Progress much is because they don't advertise it (not sure why).

Progress (it is now called Open Edge) is a horrible piece of trash.

It hasn't changed since 1985. There are no development tools to speak of.

Employment, the way it is, I'm stuck in this situation. It's a real career killer - nowhere to go with this crap.

OpenEdge is a development toolkit.
Sorry to hear about your experience, my where on the other side of the scale. I still love Progress 4gl ( though I support couple of other development tools/languages at work, Progress is still my favorite).

Btw, because of progress I always get paid more.
