Cobol syscolumns

I have to get the names of the columns out of a database and then put them into the table like this: tablename.columnname.

I have to do this with cobol's syscolumns. I can't find any information about this on the internet. Can anyone please redirect me or explain it to me.
Thank you,
Jasper
