Programming My TI83 Plus Calculator
Is this the right forum?
I searched google and only found files to run on my computer, I dont even know the purpose of them, but my calculator doesnt plug into my computer anyways. Cant you write the programs on the calculator? Applications - New? Well is there any tutorials on that because I cant find any on google, and I have no idea how to do anything on that thing. |

Yes it does. There's a cable that interfaces between the calculator to the computer. It's NOT the same as the one for calculator-calculator connections. You may have to order one. Quote:
You can write programs on the calculator. If they are complex programs, it will be easier to type them out on the computer. I searched "Ti-83 programming" on google and got lots of nice results. |

I got what seemed to be nice results to but after looking at it, it wanted me to download files. The TI 83 Plus has no other port for calc-comp, it only has the calc-calc hookup.

Then I'm really not sure what you are looking at. If you just go to TIs site, you'll only get downloadable files. That's because people write useful programs and share them. For example, on the first page of one my searches, I reached: http://tatay.kenosha.wi.us/TiBasic/ Quote:
And there's a calc-computer hookup. As you might guess, both hookups use the same port on the calculator (as in calc-calc and calc-computer). http://education.ti.com/educationpo...tivity_kit.html I type in "Ti-83 computer cable" and first result. Have fun googling. |

The TI-83 manual has good information on writing programs directly on your calculator. To wit: in the "programs" menu, there is an option that allows you to create and edit programs. You can utilize all the normal functions of your calculator in your program, and in addition, the "programs" menu provides items that are useful just for programming, like looping constructs and input/output. I'm afraid I can't be more specific now, since it has been a while and I don't have my calculator and my internet connection in the same place. Also, I think my calculator is a TI-83 regular, not plus, so there may be slight differences.

hi guys, im new in programming.
i have been reading tutorials about Disp command but i haven't seen a Disp command with text and vars. for example: Disp "Insert your age" Input A Disp "You have" A "years old." ... Ok you can notice that the last line doesn't work, but this way you can understand what I want to do in this program If I put this way: Disp "You have",A,"years old." - it works, but it occupies 3 lines =/ and i want it in just one line if possible anybody helps me? plz :S |
