I've used RealBasic. It can make Linux, MacOS X and Windows native executeables... Anyway...
RealBasic is designed to be better than VB.NET in some respects. It does not allow you to create global variables, so all values must be passed to functions in parameters. It's a bit more confusing when you're trying to add handlers, but you can figure it out quickly. Alot of what you can do is similar, but not spot on to VB.NET.
