Other Language - Upcoming lecture by the inventor of BASIC

Hello fellow coders -- this post is a bit out of the ordinary, but it doesn't byte! I produce an annual convention called the Vintage Computer Festival East. This year's edition, VCF East 8.0, is May 5-6 in Wall, New Jersey -- and we just announced the first keynote. It is Dr. Thomas Kurtz, the (co-)inventor of the original BASIC language, who did his work at Dartmouth in the 1960s. Dr. Kurtz is speaking on May 5 at noon.

VCF mornings are for lectures and hands-on workshops, while the afternoons are our hands-on exhibit hall -- imagine an antique car show, but one in which all the exhibitors have to give your test-drives! There will be dozens of exhibits of minis and micros from the 60s/70s/80s, along with a book sale, consignment, food, prizes, etc.

Proceeds benefit the non-profit InfoAge Science Center, and the sponsoring user group (MARCH - Mid-Atlantic Retro Computing Hobbyists.)
