    Change File names in Directries


    Is it safe and are they any script expamples to change file names from the current directory and working down all the sub-directories.

    The platform is a Sun Solaris.

    depends on the file, and by what you mean as safe ....

    the shell should be sufficient depending on what you have in mind ...

    It's certainly unsafe to rename system files, but user's files should be fine.
