Is there any possibility that I use 'v5.8.8 built for sun4-solaris-thread-multi-64int' and tweak some flag in Makefile.PL which will result in compilation of DBD:Oracle which works with 'v5.8.8 built for sun4-solaris'?

One more question, will the gcc version matter for this compilation to work?
I used gcc version 3.4.6, is that correct one?

Am going 1-2 days back here, recompiled DBD:Oracle with perl version 'v5.8.8 built for sun4-solaris-thread-multi-64int'. But now when I try to connect to database using simple perl program, getting following errors:
core 'core' of 9289: perl test.pl
fef4fdd4 XS_DBD__Oracle__dr_init_oci (137110, 374820, 246aa0, 2, 140d4c, 373918) + ac

0002676c _start (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) + 5c
With system /usr/bin/perl which is version 'v5.8.4 built for sun4-solaris-64int' things got compiled and executed correctly without any errors.
What could be the issue here now with these 2 different perl versions?
