    im trying to envoke a url from inside perl any ideas how like this sorta would be great

    my $url = 'http://www.yahoo.com';

    callurl($url);#sub to call the url

    &callurl{
    # what do i put into here?? HELP!!!!

    }

    im trying to start a page from inside perl ..call it ...
    heres what im trying to do i have a regisration cgi i did and the last part is to goto a page (url) when its all done when the user is aproved and i cant get it to goto the page from inside perl with out a link (pressed link) i want perl (the cgi) to go there by its self from inside the cgi..

    id like to make it sorta like a function so i can call it as a routine insert the saved varible as url and send it on its merry way..

    Hi!

    I guess you can do that with this function:

    $url="http://www.altavista.com";
    print "Location: $url nn";

    (whitout a header like 'print "Content-type: text/htmlnn";')

    Otherwise you can let PERL return a javascript that redirects the user to the new page:

    print "<script language="JavaScript">";
    print " window.location="http://www.altavista.com";";
    print "</script>";

    // udd

    hope this works i have it working sorta now but only local pages i need a page off the server for the completion...

    Just use the "print "Location: $url nn";" as ubb mentioned.

    If you want the output to show the input data of that user, then simply:
    print "Content-type: text/htmlnn";
    print "Hello $username,n";
    print "You have entered the following data:n:";
    print "Age: $agen";
    print "country: $countryn";
