    The alternative I was referring to was what we suggested earlier in this thread.

    i.e., configure the makepl_arg and prerequisites_policy settings in cpan to install the modules to a location of your choosing and then add the 'use lib' statement to your scripts to point to that location, like Ax showed.

    Oh, I didn't think that was a practical alternative as I did not see how to get it to pull in all the dependencies (other than manual trial and error) or what to do with modules that are not pure perl. I think perlbrew may be the better alternative.
