you don't need to install web logic, apache, xitami or HTTPD-lite are all possibilities, but as it stands your question is specific to the web logic server, and I don't think there's too many users of that around here. You could try their support forums ...

To write Perl code on Windows and easily preview your results you do not need anything but ActivePerl and a Perl editor geared at web programming. I don't feel it's very cooth to drop specific names, but get a free trial of DzSoft Perl Editor and check it out. It is exactly what you are looking for. You can tab back and forth from your code to the result in their psuedo browser.
Maybe most people around here aren't aware of your situation because they use REAL boxes and not Windows. ![]()

I've progammed perl scripts on windows for nearly 10 years. CGI and non-CGI. I use a combination of PerlBuilder which is a perl IDE, activeperl, apache, mysql. I have also started using strawberry perl but I am waiting for my new computer, also windows, to switch over to strawberry perl on a more permanent basis. I guess the point is that Windows boxes are real computers.

I agree Kevin, Windows is fine.. I've actually only written Perl scripts on Windows myself, but they actually run on Linux servers the majority of the time. I finally installed Fedora 8.0 on my old computer to familiarize myself more with Linux.
I'm still mad at Microsoft for making Vista a royal pain with compatibility issues. ![]() |
