I am trying to use a date as a criteria in a sql statement
the database is an access data base and requires the date to be put between hashes
however perl sees this as commenting out
I thought of writing it like this
eg. #27/05/00# but it doed not seem to work
does any body have any ideas

You could do something like this:
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana,Arial,Helvetica">code:</font><HR><pre>
my $date = qq(#27/05/00#);
Now the $date variable should be passed withouth the need to escape everything and will produce the desire value.
