i am putting perl files on some free space however when i write my files in a Windows based text editor i get an Internal Server Error 500 , i have been told that it is beacuse windows puts a ctrl-M character at the end of each line is there a way round this ie a windows editor which doesnt use or put in invalid charcters

I don't think there are any text editors that do that. But when you send it through ftp, make sure it is not set to binary mode, set it to ascii mode.(may also be called text mode or text-only mode)
This should take out the characters that are giving you errors. |
