    I am working on my windows machine and struggling with some very basic stuff.

    On my UNIX box I use

    @lines = `ls -Atl *`;

    and cannot come up with the equivalent on Win.

    Anyone who can, please reply.

    I am not sure if you could use the backtick operator in win32 or not.

    In DOS, you can do:
    "dir/4" to display 4 digit year
    "dir/od" to sort by date

    don't ask me for the keygen, it's available but you are on your own to search for it.
