I was wondering if any one has a program made to search file directories and files? I want to make a program that does this, but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any programs like this or does anyone know of some scripts I can look at?
Thank you

How can I read a .doc file

I can open .txt and .dat and read the data, but I cannot read the data from a .doc file. I can open the file, but when I try to read it, it only reads the first five or six characters and stops reading the file because of an arrow character. Does anyone have an answer for bypassing this chracter, or being able to read a .doc file?
