timeout for a perl script - Pls Help!

Hi,

i am a novice at perl.. just to check. If i have a cron that executes a perl script, that is it will perl xxx.pl. How can i have a timeout session for the perl script so that if the perl application hangs, the cron will not keep running.

I guess you should have asked this in the perl forum, cuz this is more of a perl coding thing and has been answered there before.
