.txt only editable?

Hi. I was wondering if there was a way to edit SSI files online. I am already editing .txt files online with the standard, news updater method, but when I put an SSI file, the </body> tag cancels the rest of the page out. what's going on and how can I fix it?

I need more info; what exactly are you trying to do, and what application are you using to edit these files?
