    How do I like allow people to upload something.

    Or get the location of the file to upload. Example, I got a form with textbox and a button browse. Upon clicking browse, I will be able to access the client's hdd, the client selects a clip and when done, I can upload it when he click Done.

    I would like to know
    1)How do am I able to access the client's HDD
    2)After getting the path name, how do I upload the file?

    You cannot access the users hard drive. What you can do, if you want them to upload files, is to have something like this in your HTML document:

    <form action="path_to_upload_script.cgi" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">
    <input type="file" name="upload">
    </form>

    This will make a form control which will enable users to select a file on their machine and upload it to your server.

    Thanks dwarf. So this method allows me a select a file on the HDD.

    After selecting the path to the file on the HDD, how do I upload that file?

    Using `mv $path_of_file_on_HDD $desired_directory`?

    No, I'm afraid it's quite a bit more than that.

    Stop guessing any further and start here -> http://www.scriptsearch.com/pages/l9c3c20.shtml as they are freely available, so why not try them out your own? You didn't even need to post such message here in the first place.

    With all due respect freebsd, this is a discussion forum, so any question on topic is a valid one.

    In addition, this forum gets 0-5 new subjects a day, so I dont think that it is over burdened.
