I have approx 200 gifs - all 32 x 20 pixels - that I would like to increase in size to 60 x 38 pixels. Looking for directions on how to do that.
Thanks, Ez Photoshop 7.0 |

hey,
open up one of the images. in the 'actions' panel, hit the 'create new action' button at the bottom name it and hit 'record' resize yer image save it to a different folder (make sure you do this step) hit 'stop' in the actions panel go to 'file', 'automate' , 'batch' choose your 'source' folder (where the originals are coming from) choose your 'destination' folder (where you resaved the edited gif) hit okay. |

yup
all you have to do is hit 'record' in the actions panel, and away you go. just watch the 'override save as' setting...you have to save the file while it is recording for it to override. |

How tantalizing. I don't believe I never used this in the past. Guess that's what I get for closing all the panels except the Layer.

How do I choose a source and destination folder? When I get to that step (see screen shot attachment), there is no "browse" option to browse the folders on my harddrive to pick the ones I want.

Well, duh - that "choose" button was right under my nose and I managed to miss it. But now I have another problem. I set the action running but after each image I get a "save as" window pop up where it wants to save the image as .psd instead of .gif. If I choose .gif as the file type, it then saves two copies, on as file.psd and one as file_copy.gif. And after that pop-up, I have to go thru two more popups - one for "indexed color" and another for "gif ..." - forgot the exact word. I must be doing something very wrong, because doing that for every image is no faster than resizng all the images without a batch action. Here's what I did. 1) opened image.gif 2) clicked "new action" 3) named my action 4) pressed "record" 5) image --> mode --> RGB 6) image --> resize 7) resized 8) file - "save for web" 9) saved as image.gif 10) stopped recording 11) edit --> automate -->batch 12) started the action The reason I changed mode to "RGB" is because I've noticed that any time I work on a .gif, I have to change the mode from "indexed color" to "RGB" before I can use most of the edit features. Maybe I shouldn't do that in this case? Ez |

your problem may have something to do with 'save for web'.
i think in order for the 'override save as' to work, you need to just use the 'save as' command while the 'record' function is still on. also make sure 'override save as' is clicked on. hope that works for you. |
