Ahh help with brushes

Ok, about a week ago, I created this little gerbil lookin thing. I went on vacation and when i came back i wanted to create another character, an armadillo. Well I used a brush to outline it, (just like last time) but this time it was more uh.. blended i guess is the word. How do I make it less blended like the gerbil. Can anyone help me here? Ive attached the two pics.

Define blended my friend, in graphics design (my field) blended is mixing, there is no mixing in this as I can see. Do you mean similer. If you want to make the image well lighter, put a layer adjustment or use hugh / saturation and lighten it up you could also use lightness / contrast, or levels, but preferably the curves is the best way and the most productive

Actually, it looks like you've just used two seperate types of brushes. Your gerbil is with a hard edge brush, and "ernie" is with an airbrush. When you select your brush, make sure you're looking at a perfect circle with no fading around the edges. These are typically your first 5 or so choices in your brushes palette.

Just adjust your hardness, if you are in cs right click and adjust your hardness slider!
