All my saved pics go thru Photoshop. How do I change that?

I have many pics saved on my hard-drive. Now that I've installed Photoshop 4.0 Elements, any time I want to look at a pic, it goes thru PS4. (It used to open up in Windows.) It takes too long and its not an easy way to sort thru pics. Can I change that?

Also, when I want to look at emailed pics, OE is removing the attachments. When I save the pic, it will only open up in PS4.

I'm not finding this very convenient. Any BTDT?

TIA.

Heather

you can change that, but its not a feature of photoshop really, its more a feature of your computer. Right now your computer is set to use photoshop as it's default photo viewer. Try right clicking on one of the jpegs and then clicking on Open With, then Select a Program. Select the Microsoft Photo Viewer and then check the box that says "always use this program to open this type of file" and it should be fixed

the source of this is that when you installed photoshop the settings were set to open that format of picture with it. instead of changing all the pics properties, it should fix it if you reinstall the software and go through the steps slowly and set the format of your pics to open up in 'windows', by which i think you mean the regular microsoft picture viewer?
