Batch Processing Animation

Is there any way of batch processing an Animation either using Photoshop, Imageready or some other piece of somewhere.

Basically, I have a series of jpgs that I want to make into an animation, with a 0.5 second gap between each frame, obviously all the jpg images are same size and resolution.

Currently I am having to drag each jpg in by hand into individual layers and then use the layers to create the animation.

Surely there must be an easier way...???
