Changing white background to transparency
I have a color image that is on a white background. Is it possible to only select the white provided that no white exists in the image and then remove the white portion? After that, I need to transfer it into Illustrator and then change its color. Any tips?

Use the magic wand tool and click on the white background. That should select the white part, then hit delete.
To keep the transparent background you need to save the image as a gif.
Jpg's dont let you have transparency.

Re: Changing white background to transparency
Illustrator will only be useful if you have a vector image. and if you had a vector image you wouldn't have trouble getting rid of the white...
