I found Photoshop CS (v8) at Academic Superstore for both PC and Mac platforms $279.95, or Photoshop CS Upgrade for $169.95, check link provided for more pricing. Photoshop is well worth the money. However, you can purchase the Adobe Creative Suite which includes, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Professional for $379.95, which is a great deal.Academic Superstore

Nice link. I know the UK store here sells Adobe junk for a lot more than that, but I got the Macromedia Suite for $180.

Please tell me: Does the macromedia Suite have Fireworks 2004 in it?

Macromedia Studio MX 2004, has Fireworks MX 2004, however the Macromedia Studio MX SammyK is referring to is just Macromedia Studio MX. If you wanted to attach a year to the title, adding 2002 would be appropriate. However, their is little difference between Fireworks MX, and Fireworks MX 2004 as far as I can tell. Also, Adobe Photoshop ships with it another package called ImageReady. ImageReady is similar to Fireworks, but I beleive that Fireworks has more features since it can be purchased as a stand alone program. Check these out: Fireworks MX 2004 , and: Adobe Photoshop CS
