color with shape tool
this is something probably so simple...but new to photoshop and have to do something quickly.
have a layer, i used shape tool to create an ellipse i am trying to get color in that shape thanks |

If the shape is on its own layer, you can ctrl-click on that layer, which should select the shape. Then use Edit>Fill, and select "Color...". Pick your color, press OK, and you should have a different colored ellipse.

Also applicable is selecting the layer in which your shape is contained followed by selecting the desired color at the top on your main toolbar. In the event you've rasterized your shape, select it first and then proceed to choose your color though this time on the tools bar.

Hello,
if u r serious with photoshop, learn keyboard shortcuts aswell. that will help u do things much more faster. Once u have made the selection by Cntrl + Click on the layer u want to fill, press Alt+Backspace to fill the selection with the foreground colour and Cntrl+Backspace to fill the background colour.
