Colors for my site

I posted this in the HTML/CSS forum, and I was told that I might have better luck here because the people here work with graphics and stuff. Anyways, here was my original question:

I got the basic colors I want along with the header I am going to use. What I want to know is do the colors look good or do they not go together. The design I want to use is at http://www.gameworldx.com/newdesign/. I want a similar nav bar like at http://www.gameworldx.com/ (the one on the left) except it will be text with onmouseovers, no graphics. My main problem is I dont know what color text I should use or the background color for the nav bar and the main part of the page. Any input would be appreciated

can learn from your competitors, checkout sites like www.gamespot.com, http://www.gamespy.com/ etc

I would say at least dump the orange background. Relax the background color, don't let it steal the show. You'll have plenty in the foreground later ...

Text is good, I say make that column smaller, its a little large right now.
