Question Colour Help!!

Hi! I am a newbie and I have JUST started to use photoshop and well the colour doesnt seem to be working right because I am doing some of the tutorials online and they are good but when I go to do the colouring I dont get the colour I want instead I get gray!!! Oh is there any one who could help me please?

Hi Lucian17,

Make sure that your image is in RGB mode (Image -> Mode -> RGB) and, when you have chosen your brush, make sure the blend mode for the brush is normal. Choose the colour and paint away!

FYI
It's good practice to apply paint on individual colour layers rather than the image layer itself. This will allow you to change the colours easily as your design evolves and, as you learn more about the programme, makes layer blend modes available to each colour, which can have a stunning effect on your work.
