CS2 Text Not Appearing

I'm have been using Photoshop CS2 for the past year and suddenly I am no longer able to see text that I type.

The background is white, the text colour is black, I'm on the top most layer (actually right now I'm on the only layer), the font size is big enough and is a Photoshop friendly found (basic Arial Black).

When I click on the document to create the text, a black square is coming up but I can't see the cursor, or anything I type.

The layer box does show what I typed, but not within the document itself.

Anyone have any ideas? I could do this until today.

I'm at 100% opacity - thanks for the idea though!

I somehow sorted it mostly out, as I can now see a cursor (not sure how I fixed it) but I can only make one line of text. If I hit enter, the cursor disappears as does anything to the right of it instead of simply making a new line.

One line at a time text is better than nothing

I'd suggest asking at or searching for your problem at the Adobe Photoshop forums (Mac, Windows). I know I've seen it before and that would be the place to find a definitive answer. Good luck!

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
I'm not sure how, but it somehow fixed itself with random button pushing

Seems like the text had a greater number in leading (the one beside the font size). This makes the cursor go far bottom of the screen.

I find that if you face the computer north to entice positive winds travelling south--these sort of problems are less frequent
