Faded borders

Does anyone know how to make the edges of the picture fade away and blend with the background?

Sure. Select the color of your background, grab the airbrush tool, and airbrush around the edge of the image.

it can be done much easier:

choose layerstyle: inner glow, change color to the "fade border" color u want, and change the size.
