Fading an image (.swf file) into background help

Hi:

I have an image recently turned into a .swf so that it can expand/contract to any browser resolution (http://thevoiceofnow.com). I originally worked in Fireworks, but have access to Photoshop so any help is appreciated.

I'm trying to get the image (.swf) to fade nicely into the background color #960. On some computers it works quite well, on others you can see the line between the two very visibly.

Is there anyway to get a better color match between the file and background?

Thanks...

I believe the answer is no. Image colors & background colors displayed by browsers just don't always match. Have you thought about just having the .swf file fade to transparent?

Try using a Web-safe colour ... so that all browsers can display it corectly.

Thanks for your responses, I am using a web safe color...maybe not enough of one. I don't know.

Doesn't matter. The same color in an image will often be displayed differently as a background, so you will have a distinction between the two, no matter what.

Web-safe colors have nothing to do with browers first of all.

Secondly, the monitors that have been manufactured during the last decade of so, make using "web-safe colors" obsolete.
