Filling an area with a certain colour
I have an image that I wish to edit slightly, by filling the background with a certain colour.
The image is located here: http://www.brockfordtechnology.co.uk/invicta1.jpg What I basically want is the horse to remain white, with the black border, but the main background (underneath the horse) to be maroon. I've really little idea how to do this - all I know is that it may have something to do with masks?? Many thanks, Ed Ludlow |

You can use the paint fill bucket..
if it doesn't appear as the bucket, it'll look like a gradient of black to white, just hold this and a menu will appear and select the bucket ![]() Select a tolerance of about 2, because the contrast is so great, it'll be really simple to do ![]() |

Another method of doing it would be to use the magic wand, W, to select the white background, delete it, and then throw a layer under this one to allow a more versatile background.
Doing this will also allow you to add things like shadows and such to your horse. G'luck. |
