Flat Edges on Resized Circles?? Ugghh
I use my work's copy of Photoshop to make icons. Recently I upgraded to the new CS version, but have found a problem.
To create icons, I create the .psd file with mulitiple layers, then merge those layers, resizing and saving each size as I go. In the end I have sizes ranging from 16x16 - 128x128 and I open them all up in GIF Movie Gear.....then export as an icon. This has always been easy for me...but with CS my round icons aren't looking right. As you can see from the screenshot below, when I save the icons and then open them in GIF Movie Gear, the round icons appear flat on 4 sides....(I hope you can see this from the screenshot). Photoshop 7.0 never used to do this for me, but I know this must be something I have set wrong...yet I've tried all that I can think of and yet it won't change... Please help me figure this out...it's driving me crazy! Thank you If it helps, I can post screenshots of the process by which I save each size...? |

Hi there,
First question - Is the image (icon) looking right in other programmes (paint or ps for example) or is it as in the screenshots in all programmes? Second - Do you use bicubic resize? If not, try setting resize to bicubic. Niels |

Thanks for the reply NielsNV.....it looks the same in all programs....as I resize the .psd file downward from 128 I can actually see the flat spots begin to show up on the circle/sphere...
The actual screenshot you see, is after I've opened up the .psd files in GIF Movie Gear... And I have tried using both Bilinear and Bicubic/Smooth/Sharper, with no success ![]() |
