Font too small to see
Hello,
I was wondering if anybody could give me some help. When i go to use my text tool they only font size i can see is 1296pt which looks like about 12pt if it was normal. I deleted photoshop 7 and reinstalled it twice but still no help. Any suggestions are appreciated. Vickers |

You might be using a very high resolution, check if you do. Or you might be making a small box first before typing your text, you should just click your mouse once til you see a cursor

I have the exact same problem... Fonts so small, they're totally invisible at normal font size. For my part, I believe it's related to BMP images. The problem only occurs when the original picture is BMP.
Is that the case for you ? |

not sure - agree with crackerweb though - most likely a resolution issue
what is your resolution and the resolution of your image that you are working on?

72 dpi is the default resolution

Depends on how big you want the font to be. 72 DPI means that a 72 pt font is 1" tall. 300 DPI means that a 300 PT font it 1" tall. In screen resolution (72 dpi) terms, 12 pt = 1 pica = .167" or 1/6" tall. (72 / 6 = 12) In Print resolution terms, 1 pica = 300/6 or 50 pts. |

Typically, if your making something for the web, you set the resolution to 72 dpi. If your making something for print, you set it to 300 dpi. If you make the same image in photoshop with a resolution of 300 dpi, then save a copy of it with a resolution of 72 dpi, they will both print out on a printer at the same point size. If you want to see a 300 dpi image at actual print size on your screen, go to view-> actual print size.
Just try playing around with a small line of text at 72 dpi and the same line of text at 300 dpi right next to eachother and you'll see what I mean. |
